Rockwell City – James E. Kleemeier 79, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2020 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Rockwell City, with Fr. Lynn Bruch officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. **Face masks and social distancing are required for the Church Service.** Burial of casket will be at St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. The Funeral Service will be live streamed via Palmer & Swank Funeral Home FaceBook page.
Jim is survived by his wife Barb; sons, Scott (Danette) Kleemeier Locust Grove, GA, and Jeff (Sheila) Kleemeier of McDonough, GA; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; sister Donna (Jeff) Hammen of Jolley; brother Jon (Jodi) Kleemeier of Rockwell City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fran Collins Kramer of Pocahontas, Bob (Madonna) Warner of Apache Junction, AZ, Doug Warner of Pleasantville, and Greg (Cindi) Warner of McDonough, GA; and nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Marie (Brennan) Kleemeier; and grandson Austin Kleemeier.
James Eugene Kleemeier was born August 7, 1941 at Rockwell City, Iowa. He graduated from Rockwell City High School. Following his education Jim worked at local grocery stores. On November 4, 1961 he was united in marriage to Barb Spurlin at St. Francis Catholic Church and the couple made their home in Rockwell City. Jim worked for Hunt Truck Line until his retirement. He was a cowboy at heart and enjoyed raising cattle and traveling with his wife Barb. Jim was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
