“Aunt Dona was dad's older sister. Wonderful woman - second mom to us boys, especially to the youngest one (Allan). Will always remember the trips to Rockwell City, going to-and-from Ida Grove - where Aunt Dona and dad grew up, and where grandpa and grandma lived. I especially enjoyed the time that we spent together when Aunt Dona would come up to Alaska to see her son and grandson. I will miss Aunt Dona greatly. I will remember her for the love, affection and kindness that she always bestowed on all of us. Love you Aunt Dona! Rest In Peace.”

“My Mom and Dona were such great friends. Dona was so kind and her smile was so beautiful. She did have a great sense of humor and a sparkle in her eyes with that. I imagine the reunion in heaven with Mom and Aunt Carrie to be full if giggles. ❤”

“I grew up as one of the “Court Street”family. My mom, Ethel Bond, and Dona were best friends. When my mom went to work at the high school, I was in kindergarten and needed a place to go in the afternoons when I was done with my half day. Dona lovingly took me in and became my second mom. Plus, she made the best cookies ever! She even made them for me when I would come home from college. She was very special to our family! She had a huge heart and I will never forget her kindness to me.
My sincere condolences.... I wish I could give the entire family a hug! ”

“I grew up across the street from Dona and Hank and their children. I still remember the day they arrived on Court Street. Dona was pushing Casey in a baby buggy and we all stood in the driveway and talked. Our "Court Street" family was so special. It truly was a dream world of kind people, fun times and neighbors sharing kindness, love and food! Dona was the one you could always count on to softly give you a smile and kind words. I send my love and prayers to the entire family.”
