“I remember Blanche from when I would go with my mother and neighbor ladies as the Sunshine Gals ( I think I was the only boy) to sing and play games with the residents at the old Calhoun County Home, and then again at Opportunity Living while I worked there. When I talked to her at Opportunity Living she remembered the visits with the Sunshine Gals as fondly as I did, and we sang some of the old songs together as we had in the past.
I remember doing the Hokey Pokey and during the "Turn yourself about" part, she had to sit down and told our piano player and coordinator Mrs Peterson, "I'm Wobbledy, I'm Wobbledy!" She was happy and smiling every time I saw her and her joy is missed.
Sadly most of the Sunshine Gals are gone, and now Blanche has passed also.
My prayers follow her.”
