“What wonderful memories I have with Carrie. I loved hanging out at their house listening to music and making fudge. She was so good natured and didn't mind when we teased her about eating Corn Flakes at bedtime. ”

O how we long for the day when pain, suffering and death will be no more, these former things will have passed away (Revelation 21:3-4).”

“Carrie is a National Treasure. Marian and I feel privileged to have known Carrie for most of our lives and to have been touched by her magic smile and loving heart many times. Marian had Carrie as her teacher at St. Francis and says she was the BEST. I give Carrie credit for being an early influence towards my methods of teaching. My favorite memory, however is the day Aunt Margaret and Carrie came to visit my Mom and me. Carrie was a vision in her pink feather boa and her warm smile. It warms my heart every time I think of it! Hugs to all of the family and thanks for sharing her.”

“As “you kids” know Harley& I adored your mother. Harley considered her his second mother. I spent more time on the steps with Carrie watching the little kids and discussing anything and everything. She was such an awesome, knowledgeable lady. We always made it a point to visit her at least once a year if not more, those visits were so much fun.....she was so sharp and the stories she could share. We are so thankful we were there a couple months ago, she was our Carrie and awonderful visit it was. I always admired how she raised you kids as a single mother, bettering herself at the same time. She touched so many lives and shared so much love. She certainly will be missed. If we could age as gracefully as she did it would be great. weareunable to make the services, I am having some pulmonologist problems at this time. We pray your faith, family, and friends will help at this time. God gained a very special angel .”

She was a friend to my mother and dad and such a caring teacher, parent and friend. Her lovely smile and infectious laugh with the little lean of her head made you feel the love she gave to others. All of you are so lucky that Carrie lived such a long productive life. I am sorry I will not be able to attend her funeral. Dianne Powers Modlin ”
